I first started tutoring my sophomore year in high school and kept going from there. I am a math and physics tutor at Chegg.com, and I regularly help students at UCLA with their discussion worksheets as a Learning Assistant.
When tutoring, I always wait for students to attempt solving the problems instead of solving them myself and then explaining the process. If students have a hard time or get stuck, I give them hints. I found this method to be most effective.
